Upon noticing Red, she tried to get away with her Wartortle , but was stopped by Red and his Snorlax. When Red later went to spend night at the Celadon Hotel, he was enraged to find out that Green had secretly stolen his Boulder and Cascade Badges.
She offered to accept Red's challenge for a battle if he caught her an Eevee. With the help of Bill , Red soon found an Eevee , but it turned out to be a modified Eevee, capable of changing into it evolutions and back. After catching the Eevee, Red learned from Erika that the Eevee had been tested by Team Rocket, and she had wanted to test Red if he'd be a good ally in a fight against the evil organization.

Afterwards, Blue and Yellow left to train together at Route 9. Later in the chapter, Celadon City was attacked by an army of Shellder and Cloyster , sent by Lorelei.

HG SS The city where people of many generations live together.
The department store is located here. Grass-type specialist Gym. Rainbow Badge. Route Route 7. Location Location of Celadon City in Kanto. Other generation maps. Let's Go, Pikachu! Move Type Cat. Celadon City and Erika's Gym Battle are your next objectives after Route 7 , whilst you can also optionally take on Rocket Game Corner and the Team Rocket Hideout - which we cover on that page separately - before the Celadon City Gym if you like, too.
We've also opted to break out walkthrough pages down into sections, referring to each of your visits to a given location, seeing as you often backtrack or revisit various places in your quest to become Champion! Where applicable, we'll split our page into one section for each visit, and of course if there are any, clearly mark any spoilers, too! Celadon City is the biggest city you'll have visited in Kanto so far, and in fact it's one of the biggest in the whole game.
There's a huge amount to do here: take on Erika's Grass-type Gym, visit the big Department Store which sells all kinds of useful items, talk to some helpful NPCs, or take on the secret biggest challenge: clearing out Team Rocket's Hideout at Rocket Game Corner.
With so much to do we've split this page up into sections, covering the general things to do in this one and Erika's Gym in the second, with the Rocket Game Corner Team Rocket Hideout on its own separate page. With no breeding mechanics in the game, this is the only way to do so! Head into the city a little and you'll bump into Brock outside the Condominiums where some of the city's residents live. He'll give you some Tea, which if you remember is exactly what those guards are after.
You can no access Saffron City if you like then, meaning the world opens up quite a bit, but we recommend you do all there is to do here in Celadon City first before you head there! In the Department Store, there's a huge amount of stuff to buy, including a range of TMs on the TM floor a quick tip, don't buy Waterfall for your Gyarados if you're thinking about it - it learns it at level 31! There's also a vending machine on the roof that you can use to stock up on items like Lemonade, which are a cost-efficient replacement for regular types of Potion.
In the Condominiums building, and the general city itself, there are also lots of items to gather. We've listed all of those below, as usual. Your partner Pikachu or Eevee will do! The gym itself is simple enough - there are some bushes to be chopped down, but most serve as a shortcut to the exit - so approach as many trainers as you like for practice and XP, then plough on and tackle Erika when you're ready!
Finally, when you've cleared out and then exited Rocket Game Corner , there's one more pleasant surprise here in Celadon City: you learn the Secret Technique, Sky Dash!
This acts like Fly from previous games, if you're familiar with it. In order to get this ability, you'll need to have caught at least 10 different species of Pokemon. Head to Cerulean City. Head back to Vermillion City and then keep going north until you reach Cerulean City. Stock up on Potions while you're in the City. You'll be facing 15 total trainers in the Rock Tunnel, so having Potions will be helpful.
You may also want to pick up a few Escape Ropes and Repels. Walk through the burgled home on the east side of town and use Cut on the tree. This will open up Route 9, which will allow you to get to the Rock Tunnel. Continue through Route 9 and You'll have to face off against a variety of trainers along the way. Try to avoid using any of your healing items so that you can save them for the tunnel.
Part 2. Use Flash when you enter the tunnel. The Flash ability will light the screen, allowing you to see as you make your way through the tunnel. Find the ladder to the east. You'll have to go down a little bit to avoid the dead end, and then back up to find the ladder.
This will take you to B1F. Walk to the left and then back up and to the right. This will lead you to another ladder taking you back to 1F. Walk down and to the right to find the next ladder. This will take you from 1F to B1F.
Walk all the way to the left, then head up. This will take you to the final ladder. Find the exit to the cave on the southern wall. This will pop you out back on the south side of Route Part 3.
Enter Lavender Town to the south. The Silph Scope is located in Celadon City. Head west on Route 8 out of Lavender Town. On the far west end of Route 8, you'll come to the gates of Saffron City. Unfortunately, the gates are barred, so you'll need to find a way around. You can catch a Growlithe by using Cut on the tree to get into the fenced area, which will come in handy against the Celadon City Gym Leader. Enter the building to the north of the Saffron City gates.
This building will allow you to access the Underground Path. This tunnel will pop you out on Route 7, right out of Celadon City.
Do some training on Route 7. The small patch of grass on Route 7 is a great place to do some training before you take on the Gym Leader in Celadon City. Enter Celadon City. Head to the upper-left corner of Route 7 to enter Celadon City. This is one of the largest cities in Kanto, so you'll find a whole lot to do here. Part 4. Check out the Department Store.
