Why does my suburban stall




















Thank you. I'm honestly thinking the fuel pressure regulator could have possibly took a crap. Which is some work to get to. A bad fuel pressure reg needs to be completely blown out to not have a no run, the fuel pump is always on after start. Rent a fuel pressure tester?

There is a fuse in the fusebox under the hood, its called something on the lines of body control or something, I think its a 10 amp fuse. I had this problem and this fixed it. I turned on the 4 ways and moved toward the shoulder and at 50 mph finally got the thing to restart. The rest of the trip home was uneventful. I had a Suburban with the same specs which did this same thing until a factory recall that got me a new fuel pump. I asked about the recall the last time my truck was in for service and they said it does not fall within the serial numbers for that recall.

Fuel filter replaced about 9 months ago. Co-incidentally but not necessarily related is that my battery with less than 3 years of a 7 year warranty was draining itself in less than 2 days this last winter.

Your fuel pump pickup is not on the bottom of the tank, anymore or the pump filter sock is flopping around and blocking the pump. The fact that you describe what could be interpreted as fuel starvation while going up a hill.

It will go from very low rpm's, about , and start studdering as if it wants to turn off then rev it My Suburban has been periodically having trouble starting. It will turn over fine but wont start for a few seconds like it has no fuel. Then it will start but rough. Review another car.
